PER CURIAM: 1 William James Jerzog appeals from his conviction for the importation of marijuana in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 952(a) and 960(a)(1) and the possession of marijuana with intent to distribute in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1). He asserts four points for reversal: (1) insufficiency of the evidence; (2) erroneous admission of evidence obtained in a warrantless search; (3) failure to give an entrapment instruction; and (4) failure to give a requested instruction on general intent. Finding each of his contentions meritless, we affirm the conviction. 2 The appellant, while driving a blue-green Ford pickup truck, was stopped by United States Customs Service agents who had been alerted to his presence by a tip given by a paid informant that he was delivering what he believed was illegal narcotics. The appellant was arrested for driving without a valid license and was subsequently searched. A prescription pill bottle was found among his belongings. The Customs Service agents then searched the truck, and discovered 19 pounds of marijuana concealed under the front seat. The appellant was given his Miranda warnings and subsequently signed a statement of consent to search the truck. He maintains that the search and seizure of the drugs was unlawful and inadmissible at trial because neither the agents nor the informant had a reasonable suspicion that he was involved in the trafficking of drugs. 3 The customs agents’ initial stop of the appellant was founded on an established and well-defined law enforcement agency practice of stopping vehicles whose occupants did not have valid drivers’ licenses.
