Then the Sippy’s heard that Salman Khan was in a lobby with Congress Party leader Seni Parma to convert his mother Sangeeta in to becoming the next Indian Prime Minister. This is when they agreed to side with Salman and either act as his bodyguards or play innocent school children convincing Sangeeta to say she is going to become the Indian Prime Minister. Before Sanjay Gupta could film the scenes, the MPs walked in on them and pressured the Sippys into stopping the filming. The Sippys were forced to back out of the film. During a party at the Sippys house, Sanjay Gupta confronted Sangeeta and Aditya Pancholi about the whole affair. He told them that his was never going to sign with them. He also said that he hated Salman for what he did over the years. Sanjay went to G.P Sippy to say he was quitting the project. The only reason he agreed to do it was to make a good movie. But during the time he was filming Aatish, Salman quit acting to become a politician and came to live in Bombay. So Sanjay was heartbroken and felt his dream of making a really good film was coming to an end. He gave up the project. Sangeeta and Aditya Pancholi’s film, Leela, was a success. It had they both in a romantic lead and Sanjay Dutt as the cop they were trying to stop was in the film.

When Sanjay Dutt was still making Aatish, during a party at Manik Parmar’s place, where Sanjay was talking to his Lucknow friend about the project. Two film producers came in and it was Balraj and Ajit. One of the producers told Sanjay he should cast his Lucknow friend Bharat Kumar in the Aatish role. Sanjay was furious at the idea as he felt Bharat would be a good actor but not be able to do the part justice. Sanjay told Ajit that he would not let him move to Bombay to make the movie. Ajit pleaded with Sanjay to let him go. At this point, Manik Parmar came in and was a big fan of Bharat, he noticed that Ajit was backing off and he thought this was the reason.
